Creating Single-Photo Posters
You can create striking poster prints from any of your photos -- provided that the resolution of the photo is high enough. The recommended resolutions for poster prints are:

Poster Size Minimum Photo Resolution Required
11" x 14" 1260x990
12" x 18" 1620x1080
16" x 20" 1800x1440
20" x 30" 2700x1800

If your photo is unsuitable for a poster print, we'll let you know during the ordering process.

To create a poster print, follow these steps:

  1. From your photo library, an album, or an individual photo, select Get prints in the menu to the right of the page. Then select Poster prints.
  2. On the next page, which displays the available sizes, select MAKE A POSTER PRINT.
  3. If you didn't begin in an individual photo view, you'll now be asked to select the photo you'd like to use. Find the photo and select CHOOSE THIS PHOTO.

Creating Multi-Photo Collage Posters
To create a multi-photo collage poster with up to 30 of your photos, follow these steps:
  1. Click on the "store" tab, found at the top of most pages.
  2. In the "Collage posters" box, click the "create a collage poster" button.
  3. On the next page, you'll begin collecting the photos you want to use in your collage by clicking on the photo thumbnails. When a photo is selected, there will be an orange check mark at the corner of the thumbnail and the photo will appear in the photo "well" at the right.

TIP: If you want to see a larger preview of a photo before adding it to your selected photos, click on the magnifying glass icon just below a photo's thumbnail.

  4. To select photos from another album, use the navigation bar at the left of the page. You can use photos from your favorites, friends' albums, and group rooms in your collage. If you want to add all of the photos from an album to your collage, click the "Select all" link at the top left of the photo list.

NOTE: To remove a photo from your selected photos, click on the "X" at the lower right corner of the photo's thumbnail. If you want to remove all of the photos from your selected photos, click the "Remove all" link.

  5. Once you've selected all of the photos you want to use, click the "CONTINUE" button.
  6. On the following page, you can choose your collage poster's size and orientation, and whether or not you'd like to add a caption to your collage. Once you've selected your options, click the "CONTINUE" button.

NOTE: If some or all of the photos you've selected are too low-resolution for your collage, a warning with an orange triangle () will appear next to one or all of the available sizes. You will still be able to order your collage as-is, but we cannot guarantee that your poster will be of the highest quality without visible pixels. To ensure the best quality collage poster print, we recommend adding more photos to your collage.

  7. Next, you will be able to create your title, choose the border size and color, and preview your collage. You can also change your collage's size, orientation, or add or remove photos, but making any of these changes will alter the way your photos are laid out in your collage.

NOTE: If some or all of the photos you've selected are too low-resolution for your collage, a warning with an orange triangle () will appear on this page. You will still be able to order your collage as-is, but we cannot guarantee that your poster will be of the highest quality without visible pixels. To ensure the best quality collage poster print, we recommend adding more photos to your collage.

  8. Once you're happy with your collage poster, select the quantity you want to order, check the box next to "I have reviewed my collage poster," and click the "ADD TO CART" button.
  9. In your cart, you can preview, edit, or remove your collage poster. When you're ready to order, click the "CHECK OUT" button.

What does the orange triangle mean?
You might notice an orange triangle () next to a thumbnail of a photo or a poster size when you're making your poster or collage poster. This is a warning that one or more of the photos you've selected for your poster or collage poster is too low-resolution to make a quality print without visible pixels (dots of color).

You can fix a single-photo posters by selecting another photo or using a high-resolution version of the same photo. You can also order it as-is, although we cannot guarantee that your poster will be of the highest quality.

You can fix a multi-photo collage poster by adding more photos to your collage, which makes the print size of each individual photo smaller, or by removing the low-resolution photo. You can also order it as-is, although we cannot guarantee that your collage poster will be of the highest quality.
What resolution should my photos be for creating a poster?
To guarantee that your single-photo poster will be of the highest quality, we recommend the following resolutions for each size poster:
Poster Size Minimum Photo Resolution Required
11" x 14" 1260x990 dpi
12" x 18" 1620x1080 dpi
16" x 20" 1800x1440 dpi
