  2. Photo Book: Book-style albums made with heavyweight, glossy pages professionally bound in a variety of covers. Choose from classic linen, genuine leather, exclusive patterns, or sturdy papers. Three sizes starting at $5.99.

How to Create Classic & Everyday Photo Books
To create a Classic, Everyday, Custom Jacket, Custom Cover, or Signature Photo Book, follow the steps below.

NOTE: To create a photo book, you need to have Adobe Flash installed on your computer. If you don't have Flash installed, you'll be prompted to install it after you choose your cover and design theme.
  1. Click on the "Gifts" tab, found at the top of most pages.
  2. Follow the "Books" link in the "Shop by Product" list at the top left of the store page to enter the Photo Books Store.
  3. In the Photo Books Store, click on the photo book style you'd like to create.
  4. On the next pages, choose your design theme and cover style. Select the theme and cover you want to use, then click the "Create a book" button.

NOTE: You can change your cover or theme at any time while creating your photo book.

  5. Next, you'll choose the photos that you want to include in your book. To collect photos, select get photos on the right side on top of the photo tray. Then once you are in the photo collection flow, simply click on photos and they will be added to the collected photos in the right-hand column that will be included in your book. To de-select a photo, click on the gray "X" at the lower right corner of the photo under "Your collected photos." To add photos from a different album, use the menu on the left side of the page to select another album. When you're ready to place your photos, click the "Done" button. You will then be given the option to auto fill the book with the selected photos.
  6. Now for the fun part - designing your photo book! You'll see your book template at the center of the page, your collected photos at the right, and a scroll bar of menu options below your template.

TIP: You can save your progress at any time by clicking the "Save book" button near the bottom of the page. Clicking the "Back to store" button will cancel the work you've done on your photo book and return you to the main Photo Books Store page.

  7. To place photos, simply drag a photo from the collected photos at the right into an empty photo area labeled "Drag photo here" in the book template. To choose a different photo layout for any page, click on the "layouts" button in the options at the bottom of the page. A number of small layout previews will appear in the scroll bar - to choose one, click on its preview and then click the "Apply" button.

TIP: You can edit a photo after you've placed it in your photo book by clicking on the paintbrush icon that appears at the center of the photo. Once you're happy with your edits, click "Apply changes." This will only edit the photo in your book, not the master copy of the photo in your library.

  8. To add a caption or message to any page, select the box that reads, "Click to edit." This will bring up a small window where you can type your caption, and choose the font, size, color, and positioning of your text. When you're done, click the "Apply changes" button and your caption will appear on the page. If you don't see a "Click to edit" box on a page where you want to add a caption, choose a new page layout by clicking on the "Layouts" tab at the bottom of the page.
  9. To change your book's photo layouts, backgrounds, or photo borders, click on the related tab to view your options. When you find an option you'd like to use, drag and drop it into the page you want to edit. For borders and backgrounds, you can also apply the same design to every page of your book by checking the box next to "Apply to all pages." To change your books theme or cover, use the buttons at the top of the page.

TIP: To quickly view, sort, delete, or edit any of the pages in your book, click on the "Pages" icon at the top of the page.

  10. Once you're happy with all of the pages in your photo book, click on the "Preview book" button to proof your book before you order. If you need to make changes, click "Back to edit." If you're happy with your photo book and ready to check out, click "Order this book."

TIP: You can also save your book or send your book project to a friend by using the blue buttons at the bottom of the page.

  11. On the next page, you can change your photo book's cover color and enter the number of books you'd like to order. Check the box next to "Yes, I have reviewed my book," and click the "Add to cart" button to check out.

FlipBooks start at $4.99; Photo Books start at $5.99. Photo Notebooks start at $9.99. For a complete list of prices, including shipping costs, visit our pricing page.

How many pages and/or photos can I have in my photo book?

FlipBooks: Every FlipBook must contain at least 5 photos/pages, and you can add additional groups of 5 pages at a time. The maximum number of photos/pages for a FlipBook is 45. All pages of a FlipBook are single-sided, and each page can contain only one photo.

Photo Books: A Classic Photo Book must contain at least 20 pages; the maximum number of pages for a Photo Book is 150. Photo Books can be single or double-sided, so a 20-page, single-side book contains photos on 20 pages, while a 20- page, double-sided book contains 40 pages of photos. There is no additional charge for double-side pages. In addition, each page of your Photo Book can contain up to three photos on it, with the exception of the cover and title pages, which contain one photo each. Mini Photo Books are limited to 24 pages.

Photo Notebooks: Photo notebooks generally have about 200 pages, but there is space for only one photo, on the cover.

Can I use both landscape and portrait photos in a photo book?
Both the FlipBooks and Photo Books are designed in a landscape format, but they can accommodate both types of photos. For FlipBooks, portrait (vertical) photos will be reduced in size to fit on the landscape page. For Photo Books, different layouts are offered to accommodate a variety of photos.

What are the sizes of the photo books?
Photo Books are 12x12, 8.5x11, 8x8, 5x7 and 2x3 inches in size, while FlipBooks are available in both 4x6 and 5x7 inch sizes. Photo Notebooks are 5.5x8.5 inches.

How long do photo book orders take?
Once you place your order, we'll process and ship it out within 3-4 business days. Once your order ships, please allow 3-5 business days for it to arrive (standard mail). If you select express shipping (2-day or overnight), your order will arrive sooner.

Can I ship a photo book directly to a friend?
Yes -- your photo book order can be shipped to any address in the United States. In addition, the packing slip included with a photo book order does not have prices on it. Please note that all the items in your shopping cart must ship to the same address. For instance, we cannot ship photo books to one address, and your prints to another. If you need to order some items for yourself, and some for a friend, you'll need to place two separate orders.

What is the return/refund policy for photo books?
Please contact Customer Service by emailing service@photo.walgreens.com or call our toll-free number: 866-264-2910.
